About The Opportunity 

This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity in the finance organization at Crossbow. This position will report to the SVP, Head of Finance. The level and title of the position will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and industry experience. Occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage day-to-day financial and accounting operations, including full oversight of general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, treasury management, equity awards and fixed assets.

  • Lead the Company’s monthly accounting close process

  • Responsible for quarterly R&D accruals

  • Primary contact for external auditors concerning the audit of the annual report

  • Primary contact for tax advisors concerning tax footnote, tax return, R&D credit

  • Prepare monthly Budget-to-Actual reporting and commentary as well as month-to-month spending analysis.

  • Partner with the business to assist with the budget, forecast, valuation and long-range planning (LRP) processes. Support SVP, Finance with building long range forecast and valuation models.

  • Manage stock compensation and equity system including adding new options and running monthly stock compensation expense.

  • Research technical accounting and draft memoranda. Develop action plans for adoption of new accounting standards, as appropriate.

  • Propose and implement systems, procedures and enhancements.

  • Establish positive working relationships with non-finance department staff to identify and address all areas (including systems) with accounting and financial reporting implications.

  • Supervise Senior Accountant (to be hired) and assist in the development and monitoring of training and career advancement initiatives.

Preferred qualifications and past experience: 

  • CPA with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting with 8-10 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, including US GAAP, and the ability to apply them to new or existing transactions.

  • Audit experience at a Big 4 firm, or other nationally recognized accounting firm.

  • Financial systems experience including hosted ERP and equity accounting solutions.

  • Proven ability to produce timely and accurate results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve problems.

  • Previous public company and life science/pharmaceuticals experience strongly preferred.

  • Ability to innovate and use technology to improve processes and performance.  

  • Desire for continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders (internal and external), and ability to multi-task, manage priorities, focus, negotiate, influence and resolve conflict  

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to efficiently, productively and pro-actively, both orally and in writing 

  • Must be adept at handling ambiguity, and work well in a fast-paced environment 

  • Motivated, energetic, highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, self-starter, collaborative
