Senior Research Associate / Associate Scientist, Protein Production and Purification

About The Opportunity 

This is a full-time position with an opportunity to be a part of a scientific lab team. The job title will be based on the individual’s prior experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Mammalian cell culture skill. 

  • Express recombinant proteins and antibodies from mammalian culture. 

  • Perform high-throughput routine antibody purification using AKTA system with analytical techniques. 

  • Characterize recombinant antibodies/proteins using SDS-PAGE, protein quantitation, HPLC, ELISA and other biochemical assays to determine protein purity and function.

  • Molecular biology techniques; PCR, Plasmid DNA preparation, bacterial transformation.

  • Mammalian cell culture assays (T cell killing/activation/cytokine release).

  • Analyze and interpret data and prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Maintain accurate records of experiments and data analysis. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of project milestones. 

  • Stay up to date with the latest scientific and technological advancements in the field of antibody purification.

Preferred qualifications and past experience: 

  • Experience with recombinant antibody and protein expression and purification using mammalian cell lines is desirable.

  • Experience with FPLC systems and with affinity, IEX and SEC protein purification methods is desirable.

  • Experience with general in vitro cell culture/immunology techniques and culture of primary cell lines a plus.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of protein purification experience. 

  • Experience in analytical methods for assessing the quality and purity of antibodies, such as SDS-PAGE and analytical SEC using HPLC system. 

  • Cell culture techniques 

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
